What is Run Louis Run?
Pond House Cafe Owner, Louis Lista, turns 60 this year. To celebrate he has set a goal to run in the Philadelphia Marathon this coming November. Louis has also set an even bigger goal of raising $60,000 by race day! All of this money will be donated to CPA’s Culinary Training Program.
Louis and the Pond House have had a long standing collaboration with Community Partners in Action and their Culinary Training Program is dear to his heart which sparked the creation of “Run Louis Run”!
The Pond House’s lunch restaurant, Zest 280 has recently re-open as a mission based restaurant. We have created a 10 week culinary externship program for individuals re-entering the workplace. The Culinary Training Program is made up of the training program already in place at Billings Forge and now the externship at Zest 280 for individuals who have completed their training at Billings Forge. The 10 week structured program will train individuals in a variety of necessary culinary skills as well as front of the house skills needed to re-enter the workforce.
